Variable Star Astronomy is fascinating and rewarding!

Visual and Photographic photometry can give us many insights into the lives of stars.

Stay tuned for future updates and articles related to variable star photometry.

When will T CrB go nova ?

As of 11-28-24 T CrB has not gone nova

T CrB will go nova soon.  Perhaps in 2025? Only time will tell.

T CrB - soon to go Nova

T CrB - soon to go Nova

T CrB - soon to go Nova

Don't miss the most anticipated Nova in 80 years! T Corona Borealis will go Nova soon, and you don't want to miss it!

Light Curves

T CrB - soon to go Nova

T CrB - soon to go Nova

Light Curves show period and brightness relationship over time. T CrB has a lot of variation in the years between each Nova.

Omicron Ceti Visual Observations

Omicron Ceti Visual Observations

Visual observations of Omicron Ceti over a one year period.

These observations were about one week apart. Omicron Ceti is a long period variable (LPV) and a fun one to watch as it has about a 12 month period.

Phase Plot of Omicron Ceti using my own personal observations over a one year period of time. The VStar visualization and analysis tool from the AAVSO is an easy to use tool to plot data on a  light curve for analysis.
